I believe this is a Commander from 1973, based on my research.
Hell ChefBenjamin, welcome to myBulova. Nice looking old Bulova you're wearing! I'm curious to know what the date code is on your watch - the alphanumeric code on the case back. The ad you've linked is from the late 60's as I recall but you have your watch dated 1973. The dial on your's doesn't quite match the Commander shown in the advert, the seconds track is in a different position, the contrasting color bar from 9 across to 3 is not shown in the advert and I'm not sure your hour markers are illuminated. I'm still searching for a better advert/name match. Do you have a photo of the movement?
"AO" is s/s version, "AQ" is g/p version.
Although the dial/hands are more "modern" to keep up with the 1970's styling, maybe we can still call it a Commander?
What does it say on the outside case back?
The dial/hands do not match any Commander ads, and unusual for a 30 jewel watch not to say so on the dial.
I will reserve my decision until I can see the movement.
Unknown for now.
Certainly looks like a Commander case, but without verification of the movement I would be at Unknown for now.
Dial really is not Commander
Unknown for now
I'm at Unknown now too.
I guess I go with Unknown too
i thought I would throw this ad out there. It claims to be a 30J and looks to be a Commander but confirms no "30 Jewels" on dial. Still not a dial match but very close..
