Bulova 1972 Jet Star

I would agree with Jet Star.

It looks as though the 'A' variant had the bracelet and the 'B' variant had a strap.

I'd have to go with the Jet Star 'B', since the original strap/bracelet is unknown.

Ken, I think there's a dial difference between the "A" & "B". The markers on the "A" are dark outside/light inside while the "B" is opposite. I wonder if the "A" is colored red/blue and the "B" is not? I'm going with "A". I suspect that the strap and crown are replacements

I think I will go with B because A states a grey dial and B a silver dial.  This ad says it had blue markers.  With the silver dial and lizard strap it would be the "B".  So many Jet Star models.  I found an "C" and it is completely different.

I guess for me silver and grey are rather similar when it comes to describing dial color in some ads. Maybe there is a difference, but I found another strap ad that shows the markers dark on the outside, and also calls for blue markers.

I'm still not finding a difference, other than the band.

We can make note of the possible variants and their differences, and not assign a variant.

Without further documentation it's tough. Based on Ken's in depth ad research, it certainly appears that the markers are different between the "A" and "B". My gut says that subject watch is an "A", with dark (blue) markers. I'll go with the majority concensus.

1972 Jet Star ("A" or no variant)

The 1973 Linebook BAWD0180 page 12 has two options depending upon the dial marker colors.  Blue and Black.  This one does appear to be Blue or B Variant.  It appears that in 1973 the dial changed to silver with arabic numbers as the handwritten notes on the variant A line book listing and later linebooks show it as Silver with Arabic numbers.  So 1973 was a traditional year for this model.
