I picked up this 10 karat gold filled Bulova Acutron railroad approved watch this weekend from a watch jar from a thrift store. I don’t have any tools to open the back with me but assume it’s a 214 movement . It is a yellow gold filled case with a white dial, black hour markers and a gold Accutron second hand. The dial is marked Bulova Acutron Railroad Approved. I need to go out and get a battery to see if she runs. It is on a vintage Bulova genuine leather strap with a embossed Bulova clasp.

Very cool!

1970 Bulova Accutron 214 Railroad "427" with non-original buckle and the second hand should be red or sometimes black, I've never seen one that was original and gold, Any pictures of the movement ?
1970 Bulova Accutron Railroad works for me. Tentative 427, noting possible second hand replacement..
I'd say that is a modern replacement for the sweep second hand.

I just received the watch back from Mike Cousineau. A complete service including a new tuning fork and appropriate second hand and she is looking and running great. Thanks MIke!
