I bought this 1964 Accutron Railroad approved from a Dutch Accutron specialist. I wanted to have a watch for daily use and instead of buying a new watch of brand X I decided to go for something special and with history. This was the first Bulova I purchased. Watch is completely cleaned and runs perfectly. The original dial is available as well.

There we go. I think Accutron Railroad is used as a generic catch-all for these Railroad Approved watches for which we didn't have specific model "names" (or in this case numbers). Great watch!! Good at match. Watch dial in ad looks like the subject watch "original dial" (without the Bulova above Accutron). I'm assuming original dial is the one in the picture next to the watch.
This watch is dated 1964; and the '64 pricelist has neither the 226 nor the 262. The new dial puts it close to the 226 as presented, but this was not a model offered in 1964, and it would seem inapropriate to give it a model name that was not available that year. What are the dates of the already presented ads; late 60s or 70s?
A close match using the original dial would be the '202', as in this 1965 ad and listed in the '64 pricelist.
Since the watch is no longer configured with the original dial, and with one from a later year, I would say it does not match any of the provided model options.
