Watch Description

This watch came from my Dad's collection which I call a "box-o-watches."  He was a watchmaker and had his own business.  I inherited all of his tools, parts, watches, etc.  I think these watches were taken on trade-in for a new watch purchase.  I  have two of these (the other N5)--both of them I serviced when I 'returned' to watchmaking about three years ago.

This style of Oceanographer always confussed me. To me this is more of a dress watch than a divers watch, but alas divers have to look good as well I guess.

Excellent point about the style.  I think watches with the rotating bezel were popular even for those who were not divers.  My first real watch was a Wittnauer Compressor.  I was just 14 or 15 and was NOT a diver. I wonder how many of these were sold.
