1969 Bulova oceanographer automatic snorkel 666 feet
Awesome watch. Seems more modern than 1969 but we do have this 1969 ad showing this model. It does appear to have a replaced bezel though. Does the bezel fit correctly?

Even to me it seemed strange the all black bezel I had never seen it like this, but it fits well and turns in both directions with good resistance
I'm comfortable tagging this watch as an Oceanographer but as the bezel may or may not be a replacement I could not support the G variant classification.
1969 Bulova Oceanographer
Six digit Serial number starting with a "1" followed by a space, as well as interior case markings and "Swiss" on dial, case and movement would seem to indicate European manufacture.
This may well be correct as presented and a non-US variation not represented by ads in our database. This may also be the European version of the "G", a European Oceanographer with no variant letter, or a "G" with a replaced bezel. Based on this, I say
1969 Oceanographer (no variant).
Great watch!

Thanks for the research. Now I'll go crazy to see if this bezel has been replaced or if it's original 😅😂

Welcome to the obsession...:o)
Attention masterpiece in progress……😍😁 I finally found the original ring and crown now I only miss the bracelet
This Jan 1 1969 ad seems to match the all black bezel but slightly different number sequence. Matches the other version we have in the Database.

It's possible that the bezel shown in the above advert is actually black and red. I'm thinking the red could just appear as black in this print.
I am curious if the bezel ring on the subject watch is correct for this model.
