This watch is commemorative of the inaugural game between Grambling and Morgan State at Yankee Stadium.
Thank you for posting your watch. It’s really very nice. The game was played for charity on September 28 1968 between the two historically black colleges with 64,205 people in attendance which at the time was one of the largest college games ever played in New York City. Normally these watches were given out to the players and coaches so it’s safe to assume that they were no more than 250 to 300 of these made. In 1968 five players from each team were drafted into the NFL and would’ve probably owned this watch. I assume this to be a 17-jewel Movement and of the Sea King model range. A fine bit of history you have there.

Great watch! I would tend to agree with tagging this one as "Commemorative" due to the relative obscurity of it. My personal thought is wear it and enjoy it, and share to story.. Chances are if you donate it somewhere, it will disappear into a drawer in a storage facility never to be seen again.
