Very clean stainless steel waterproof early 60's Bulova sporting a 17 Jewel, 11AF movement.
I hope the inside of that case reads, "Bulova"? The back sure doesn't look like anything I've seen.

Case maybe a replacement. I've another of these and the case looks spot on except the other has the movement pop out from the front and the crystal come off like the old style waterproof. I'm pretty sure they're the waterproof model but haven't checked it out.
Yeah, not sure about the case but its 100% a Bulova Surf King dial, hands and movement.

...other than that, it's 100% original, and now that it's restored, it's in mint condition :)
should this one be listed as a "non-conforming"? In the comments it's already noted as having the dial, hands and movement of a surf king- but that case. What do folks think?
Hmm, "17 jewels" & "Swiss" on the dial just like this one:
The Surf Kings in ads before 1964, the case lug inners are "squared off" as opposed to following the shape of the case, as in subject watch. Plains' watch looks more like the Surf Master from 1958, ads image 26 page 10, I think.
