** I AM NOT AN EXPERT, PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY **
This watch was given to me by a friend. I spent some hours researching Bulova, from which I have no prior experience, and was unable to accurately tell the model of this watch. American Girl? Not sure. What I believe to understand is that it is:
- a women's watch
- fairly old (no disrespect to the elders of course) made in 1957 <movement and case>
- made from 10k Rolled Gold Plating
Having never seen a movement of this kind, I was amazed at the beauty as well as effort put in to fabricate and assemble this work of art. Thanks to all for any help and making my first myBulova experience a good one.

American Girl is on the money!
Welcome to myBulova and thanks for adding your watch. The panel will now look to assist you further by identifying the variant as there were a numbr of types of this model released.
I totally agree, these movements are a work of art!
'AMERICAN GIRL'
'BXW' is the hallmark of a Swiss made Bulova movement.
Brian,
Is the Case Yellow or White Gold?
American Girl "U" in white gold filled.

Thanks for the help! It's white gold as far as I can tell.
Does the American Girl hold much value these days?
Thanks again,
Brian

Hi Brian, I have about 20-30 of the American Girl models, many different variants and even fully restored and serviced, I can't sell them. They were quite popular amongst collector's on the UK a year or so back but that has died off as well.
would the differing model numbers used in the ad not suggest a different variants? as in 'also available in White' ect
In reply to would the differing model by FifthAvenueRes…
Mark - my take on those model numbers is that they're catalog numbers for the retailer and aren't Bulova identification numbers.
Also, I saw what appeared to be a signature inside of the case. Maybe just random etch marks from usage? I was reading about how the older models had date markings and signatures. Ill try to get a better picture.

There's a diamond pattern on the bangle, it doesn't match the ad, however it does match one from 1958. There is no variant given in the ad, however.
The Roman numerals you are seeing are supposed to match the serial number of the movt. In this instance, it seems to be the case serial number, 994. We're still investigating this.....
