Doesn't look like the same watch case.
Yes, the 1956 display ad announcing the new design shows the 'PRESIDENT' "A" variant.
...a 1958 database ad shows the subject watch as the 'PRESIDENT' "C" variant http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/bulova-ad-1958-…
Mark, did you grab the wrong ad?
Nope, 1956 is the inaugural Year for the newly designed 'PRESIDENT'.
IMO, the correct ad is displayed, 1956 being the significance as the 'PRESIDENT' evolved to this new design.
Thanks for the interest.
I agree with Nova...it made no sense to post an ad of the wrong watch variant. Its confusing enough for Members as it is...maybe you could consider that going forward?
Here's subject watch next to the 1958 watch ad example:

I do see the "lug hips" which appear to come up on the bezel in ad but not in subject watch. Close
Guys,
To Date I haven't heard anything quite so rediculous as the 'suggestions' above and honestly It's an insult to My intelligence and to the MyBulova site.

If We can't correctly ID a 1956 - 1960 'PRESIDENT', one of the most basic designs Bulova offered, then some of Us are in trouble.
The ad is an Artist rendition, of coarse it's not going to be an exact match, but IMO the drawing is a fairly good representation of the 'PRESIDENT' - when compared side by side to the actual Watch.
2c
oh wait a second, it can't be the same Watch - one is showing almost Twenty past Eight and the other almost Twenty 'til Six.......
In reply to Guys, To Date I haven't heard by FifthAvenueRes…
You have to be BLIND if you cant see that the watches are the same. Nice watch Mark a real beauty
