Lexington "B" with re-painted dial.
Sure looks like the case of the Lexington "B" from this 1958 ad used in OldTicker's example.

Looks like the Lexington "B" was available as early as Spring 1955 (Model list below)
Same model/variant still available in Fall 1958 model price lists, w/ same unique model number (below).
So there's two Lexington "B"s with diff unique Bulova model numbers (same for Lexington A). Could the price diff btwn the two "B"s listed reflect a different mount and perhaps a black dial? Who knows?
Subject watch could be a Lexington "B" with a repained black dial vs the white quad dial shown in the ad, or it could be that Lexington "B" was also available in a black dial version (31107 $57.50) for which we don't have an ad. There is evidence that two were available, but the distinction remains Unknown.
For now, I would give three ticks for generic Lexington (no variant) and two ticks for Lexington "B" noting that it may or may not have come Point Of Sale in a black dial version.

Hi Peter, looks like you're moving your watch collection into the 1950's. I agree that the watch is a Lexington but not sure I will commit to a variant. Regarding the black dial, I rather like it this way. Wear it proudly!

This watch does have a nice look to it; looks like a Lexington case, not sure if the dial is original and we do not have an ad match at this time; would say that the $57.50 'B' version should match the ad - this watch does except for dial color and numerals, and no other variant at that same price. Is it possible that some of these Lexington models were derived from prior President models, such as the Lexington 'A' in the above ad; the President 'D' that matches the 'A' case in the ad above came with a black dial that is very similar to subject watch, perhaps something a jeweler swapped out for a customer if they asked? Not sure if the Pres dial even fits this case.

The dial looks like ir's original to me and I've seen hundreds of refinished dials. Lexington, variant Unknown.

I've got a 1955 Lexington "B" in my hand right now that I'm pretty sure is all original. It still has the band pictured in the ad. It also has the daulphine hands and the "X" shaded dial. The watch in question looks like it has the Lexington "A" dial and hands in a Lexington "B" case and the dial is black. I would speculate that this was another Lexington variant Bulova offered.
