Thank you! looking forward to learning more about this watch. I am hoping to get it opened and share some photos of the movement -Ken
Wow this watch is in amazing condition. I think this is the iconic 1950's Bulova watch. White dial or Black I just love these watches. I would put on one of those white gold / statinless steel expansion bands with black leather inserts ( but that's just my opinion).
Either way - yes, 1955 Bulova 23 "B" it is. Thanks for stopping by - wonderful watch.

Thank you! I would like to see what the band you refer to looks like. Though, I prefer a leather strap and would like to find one similar to the original, with the stitching continuing accross below the spring area, like the one in the linked ad below by FifthAve, and this fine example http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/watches/watch%20Bulova.jpg?1355478997. Most straps that I see available, the stitching goes off to the side as it ends.

Could someone tell me if the case of this watch is white gold or stainless? Thanks

It is probably stamped on the inside caseback, but my guess would be gold filled.
