23 jewel movement, marked L4, case marked L4, Bulova, Stainless Steel Back,Anti Magnetic, Shock Resistant, Self Winding, Water Tite- Indise marked Bulova Quality and some jeweler service marks. Bezel appears to be stainless steel also. Diameter 32mm less stem, 40mm with lugs. Sunburst? style Dial marked Bulova- 23 Jewels, Self Winding, dial. Running good even thought it looks like it's been underground for a while. Sweep second hand missing. Dial looks like it would clean up nicely, any advice? I don't see any dial screws, how do these come off? Looked at some ads and saw a similar watch- Bulova 23 model, 1st year.
Nice watch, I have one like it and love it. The dial is indeed a sunburst and when cleaned up it is spectacular.
Bulova 23 - a classic from the 1950's. Nice watch.
May just be a first of the Bulova 23 models.
Early Bulova 23. Looks like this watch here. Love the sunburst dials....

I am looking to get a black sunburst dial watch, were these lower quantity produced models? They seem to bring higher prices. Also, anyone know where I can get a sweep second hand for this watch?
Confirming model and variant from the 1955-1959 Line Book BAWD0127 (noting missing 6 adjustments on dial.)
