Watch Description

This is not my watch, but it recently sold on our favorite auction site.  The seller was gracious enough to allow me to use his pictures for documenting this watch. Solid 14K gold case marked APEX on the outside.  (In looking for ads I did see a closely matching case in 10K in the 1951 Ambassador that described a 4-way expanding Apex bracelet) No inside pictures.

This one is very cool. I actually followed this one and watched  auction close and researched it prior. It's similar to Ambassador, but different. Ambassador clearly shows ribbing on the "wings" and 21J. Another model -  Everett appears to be the same watch casing as Ambassador.  I don't think subject watch is either of these. Ads dated 1952

Unknown and possibly non-conforming

It's clearly a Bulova case.  How is it non-conforming?

I think it's just another solid gold Unknown.  Bulova seems to have been pretty crap at advertising their solid gold watches.

Sharp looking watch. Assuming the movement inside is 21-jewels, we may be looking at the Winslow

Only image I can find is from the 1957 linebook:

Wow, I think you got it Ken. dates are a bit of a stretch, but it sure looks like a match. Perhaps this was a very low production or special order model that wasn't included in the linebooks and offered to the average Bulova distributor.

Should Apex be added to case maker drop-down on watch submission page? That maker is a first see for me.

My concern also, the date range difference; but in that same linebook there are several other early 50s models listed. A few of these 14k models remained unchanged and available for many years, but some did receive design changes. I think we are good with this one, unless a different ad surfaces in the future. Also, the 38112 Winslow model was in the 1953 pricelist.
