Dating is not easy with this one. After goood surching it appear the movement shape or the main bridge and same keyless work have been used in 1917-1918-1919.

I am willing for 1918!

I am usual to see the engraved roman numeral around the crystal.... this one is reall inner the center case.

Oh how I would love to be able to date these correctly with 100% certainty. I'd be comfortable with 1918.

I'd also be very happy to understand the difference between a 3xxxxxx and a 2xxxxxx ASWCCo serial number.

Typically with the 2xxxxxx we use the 2nd number as the year. With the 3xxxxxx this never seems to work.

I'm wondering if the pattern is 25xxxxx, 26xxxxx, 27xxxxx, 28xxxxxc, 29xxxxx and then 32xxxxx, 33xxxxx, 34xxxxx....curious.....

for the subject watch, i observe the same main bridge shape in 1920 too on rubaiyat and lady maxim....

maybe its a early 1920 just before they start using the globe symbole.....

a day we will know it!

I think the American Standard W C Co hallmarks pre-date the Aug 1918 American Standard ''in use since' date of the Bulova patent.

It would make sense that American Standard W C Co was a stand alone case manufacturer before its' purchase by Bulova (in 1918?).

Cases marked simply 'American Standard', as in the Bulova filing would then post date Aug 1918.

for sure, we got the america  maid 1915 in d.b with a american standard case so it was in use before 1918 !
