Watch Description

New Old Stock Bulova 37159 Academy Award "Q". Complete package includes hang tag, original band, clam shell display case and cardboard storage box. Likely one of the first Academy Award watches made in that the case is dated LO - 1950, but the movement is A9 - 1949. Interesting that the clam shell is not correct yet everything else is a match. This must have been on of those 'switched at birth' stories where the jewelry store clerk put the watches in the wrong box after having shown several models to one customer.

It almost looks like part of the inside lid decoration is missing.

A stunning 1950 Bulova Academy Award 'Q'. I'm assuming the outer box is probably more rare than the watch.

Here is the Correct Watch Case for the Bulova AA Models as a example from my Collections. The watch is correct; AA "Q"

Agree with AA 'Q'

The ads for this variant show a different band style, but I'd say the band on this watch looks like a proper match to the case than the ones shown in the ads we have.
