Another from the Academy Award watch line. This one is the "F" I believe. The date codes are 1949 but I have read that some were made at the end of 1949 for 1950. The date code is very hard to read on the back of the case but looks like an A9 to me as is the movement. It is 10K gold filled with a working 6BC 21 jewel movement. Thanks.

Wonderful,

We seem to see very few AA models double dated 1949. Nice snag.

Wondering if the white gold version went by a different variant, or is it indeed yellow gold?

Good point, Stephen. That slipped right past me. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this was variant "G", which would make sense per Bulova variant progression. Advertised model (F) in yellow, also available in white (G).
We have neither an F or G in the Db. We go directly from C to H.
I change my vote to either AA no variant or AA"G".

It is yellow gold. I think my lighting was washing it out.

OK, yellow gold is AA"F". Disregard my previous comment questioning variant :o)

That is a good question on "G" might be a white gold or different face version. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a pricelist with photos!
