Hi all I received this watch this morning and have spent the last few hours cleaning it up. The movement is a 21jewel 7AA and is marked A9 but the case is marked L0 ,so it would be classed as a 1950 model. The case was very tarnished and the dial was nearly brown, it must have belonged to a heavy smoker. It has come up great. I believe it is an Academy Award. the movement is running fine . It requires a new crystal as it is scratched and has a small hole in one side. and maybe a new strap to finish it off. If any member has a crystal that would fit this watch, I would be more than happy to purchase it from them.

Hi plainsman
I use a special jewelry cleaner a friend found for me and a cotton bud and fine artists paint brush. I gently brush over the dial with the bud/brush dipped in the cleaner , a few times leave for a minute or two then wipe with a clean bud. have used this cleaner on quite a few dials now and it seems to bring them up very nicely without any detremental affects, it called jewel sparkle, it was bought in the UK
Regards
George
