14k rose-gold-filled, hinge-lug case. The dial is rose gold also, and the hands are blue steel. The 8AD movement is marked 48. I didn't find a match in the ads, or in the database. I thought it would be easy to spot a match, based on the lack numerals on the dial, but it wasn't.
Thanks in advance, TQ
PS Is there a straightforward way to rotate images? I tried and gave up.
This 1950 ad for the Conrad looks to be a match, but it's marked not available. Maybe it was unavailable in 1959, but available in 1948?
Based on the serial number beginning with a 9 I would date this as a 1949 Bulova Conrad. I suspect that this ad is older and that at based on the Conrads we have in the database 1949 was the year the 14kt gold filled case was lowered to 10kt gold filled to save costs.
I think you're spot on Jim - 1949 Bulova Conrad. Great lugs on this one.....
