Great Grandfather's watch. White gold, signed crown. Douglas perhaps? On the back 10K GOLD FILLED BULOVA A9 1270032
I see A9 on the outside case back, for 1949. What is the datecode on the movement- right below where it is stamped Bulova? Please and thanks.
Looks like a Douglas to me. Similar to this charcoal dialed (unknown) variant seen here.

Will I do not see it would be a Douglas shape of case at the lugs is different

aha yes. I see it now. I thought the reflection of the bracelet on the bezel was masking the lugs and horizontal bezel, but they do look slightly different.
The "side picture" sure looked like Douglas.Subject on top, another Douglas in DB on bottom.

Having your great grandfather watch is priceless, you are very fortunate.
Several ads showing it as a Douglas through 1949, here's a good one dated 1947

but then in 1949 this pops up:

I'm inclined to tag this one Ambassador as we do have a crossover advert for 1949. That would make it neccesary to review several of the the Douglas watches we have post 1949.

Looking at the second hand subdial shape, wouldn't that make it a Brigidier?
Panel Members, your thoughts?
I'd tag it as Douglas
I'm good w/ 1949 Douglas. Case w/ A9 and I think I see a "49" datecode below Bulova on movement.
Assuming the hands are original, I would id this one as a Brigadier. The Douglas ads from 49 show different hands and a different thicker track around the second hand. The Brigadier ads match more to subject watch when looking at hands and track.
The Ambassador in the above ad is more similar to other Douglas ads; but it also matches the Brigadier when seen in this 49 ad. Confusing models that all look the same with slight differences - hands, seconds track, band.
I'm voting for Brigadier.
Dial does match the Brigadier, and the date matches the ad date too. And that darned Ambassador ad of 1949 does complicate/confuse things (above right).
The closest so far is the Brigadier. I'd go two ticks tentative.
