Hi all Just received this watch today It was advertised as a Brigadier , Which I think it is ,but would appreciate members comments to its actual identity. The dial and hands look correct but all the newspaper ads portrays the brigadier with metal bands. This watch has a new leather band. The case is marked 10k Gold filled and A9 . Also has the above serial number and is marked on the inside Bulova Fifth Ave. New York. The movement is marked 48 and is a 8AE 21 Jewel.
regards George
Nice looking watch, George. Watch bands are often the first thing to get replaced along with crystals, so the original band for this one is probably long gone.
I'm inclined to agree with the 'Brigadier' ID.
agree with Brigadier, very nice condition.
1949 Brigadier
That's a nice one George. And it's the same age as me.
Hi Merc
well im a year older than the watch
We also have matching adverts (minus the metal mesh band) for a 1948/49 Douglas and Ambassador
The Douglas 'B' was yellow gold version.
Do we have a better advert for the Brigadier?
Hi
I looked at both those adverts before I put the watch on to the dB, both the Douglas and the Ambassador have black hands and hour markers plus the Douglas has different hands. where as the above watch has gold hands/ hour markers etc
In reply to Hi I looked at both those by donegd
Just found a very nice advert confirming the Brigadier.
