Watch Description

Adding another HE.  This one is the "L".  I will eventually replace the crystal that is pretty scratched.

An interesting note on the dial.  The "L" dial is jet black and the "H" dial is a charcoal gray.  I have now seen one other of both besides mine and believe these are two different dials and not just a faded one.

Wow another beauty.

Does the case have a 1948 date mark?

Thank you.  No date stamp but the serial # starts with H for 48.  One more to find to complete this page of the ad lol

Very nice example. The deeper black dial has a nice look.

That's a real beauty Kathy - well done! I have to ask.....if the gray and black dials are actually two different models (I'm not so certain they are), how do we differentiate by the adverts?

Thanks Geoff.  The gray dial is in my HE “H” which is a different case to the “L”.  I believe they made two different dials a black dial for the L and the slate gray dial for the H base on mine and others I have seen on eBay.  At first I thought my H dial was just faded.  Now that I have seen another I don’t think so anymore.  As far as the ads go we would just go by the case and gold color with these as the dial color doesn't seem to come into play with the HE line.  More of a fun observation than anything else.

I really like the slate dials, I have a couple watches that have them.

Me too Reverend Rob.  I like the added character a colored dial adds to a watch.
