Hi all
I think this may be a H.E. J but I would appreciate members comments to help verify its identity
the movement is a 21 jewej 6BA. it marked 47 and stamped Bulova watch co.
The case is stamped 10k Gold Filled Bulova and has the serial number 792533
The watch is in nice condition and is running but needs servicing as it gains about an hour per day. It also has an engaving on the back which looks as though it was given as a gift to some ladiy.
I am not sure about the band. It does seem to match quite well but I can't find a match for it.

Your watch sure does look like the various HE's in that ad you supply above. Full version here. It shares HE characteristics, and looks very similar to models in this other Her Excellency ad also from 1947.
I've been looking for an exact match (and possibly a tentative variant designation) but to no avail.
I'm good with a tentative 1947 Her Excellency for your watch ID.

Yes l had looked at that ad to, but l think it looked more like the HH J variation because of the two humps at each end of the bezel . I know that black and white ad is not to clear but l increased the size and you can just make out those two distinct sort of humps at the ends of the bezel. But which ever variaton it is l definatly think its a H H. as these seem to be the only ladies watches with this jewel count.
Many of the HE ladies watches had variations of the same lug design, such as square corners and cut corners. The ads showing subject watch's lugs all appear to have square corners; subject watch has cut corners. I think we are on track with this being an HE and with the correct jewel count, but w/o supporting ad I am tentative.
Hi Andersok I have increased the size of the image and enhanced it you can see the two fingers that end on the bezel also the cut away corners like the watch above

Subject watch and watch in the advert above are different. The above HE has a square crystal. I've seen the corner cut crystal shape before and think it came from a Lady Bulova.... Searching now.
Yeah, I don't think we have a match here either. Assuming there hasn't been a movement swap this SHOULD be an Her Excellency because of the 21 jewel movement but I cannot find anything that proves it.
Unknown. I really don't think we can ID as Her Excellency.
The nearest ad I have found is for a H.E. A this has the same shaped crystal and altough the ad is in B & W and very grainy it does look similar 1946 ad will try and up load it
There is an identical watch just gone up on ebay so l am presuming the movement and band are original as l wouldn't imagine that anyone swapping parts would come up with the identical match to the one above. -------link to active eBay listing removed------not allowed per site rules-----admin-----

I have looked through as many ads as l can find, an this watch seems to be a cross between a HE A and HE C
