1945 President 'E' with high dome crystal . Was this an option crystal as the other presidents I have seen have flat crystals ?

Looking very modern yet very Vintage at the same time, an achievement not easily accomplished with a lot of restorations/refurbs looking too new, wrong or even fake when finished IMO. I like this watch, a lot! In fact the more I look the more I like.

First one I have seen with a white dial & it sure looks like class, in comparison to the copper dial 45 Presidents.

Where does the E designation come from? There is advetising support that the President E incorporates the exploding dial. The one 1940 ad for this dial configuration calls it Preesident. Without an alpha suffix.
