Black face with second dial at the bottom of the face, hour and minute hands luminous. This used to be my Grandads watch and have no idea of age or model which I am trying to find out
i am trying to identify the age and model of this watch - it was my Grandfathers who was a watch repairer but have no further information, the case ser number is so faint it may be incorrect and I have opted for 1945 as year of manufacturer as this is the latest year that is denoted by a triangle, and therefore this may also be incorrect.
any assistance would be apprecaited.

1945 would be correct.
The Watch appears to be WWII Military although non-issued, hence the lack of any nomenclature on the Caseback (?)

Many thanks for your feedback, thats great that i can now identify what it is, I have looked at the technical manual and this also makes good reading - assembly and disassembly aside as this didnt mean a greate deal to me.
The watch itself is not in good order and is quite knocked about (its been used for what it was intended) i'm assuming the only value is sentimental or is there a market for these do you know?
There is a market, a strong market, the Black Dialed WWII Bulova model 10AK seemingly more scarce than the White Dialed versions.

Hi Tony - Sorry, but it really isn't possible for us to give pricing evaluations here, there are just too may variables. There is a way listed on the 'add a watch' page to list your watch for sale here.....

The check box can be found on the page where you added the watch information, to retrieve it now, click the "edit" tab on the top of this page. It is possible that a member here or someone who comes to research their own watch would be interested in buying it.
One of the reasons we don't give evaluations is thanks to the honesty system that we have here amongst our loyal members. You could ask me or another member how much....I/we say $50 knowing its worth much more. It's because we have the opportunity to try and cheat someone out of a vintage Bully cheaply, that we are very mindful that we don't give any evaluations. It also helps us not be the determining body for pricing vintage Bulova watches.
Simply there are way too many actors to consider when determing the value. End of the day it's what you are happy to sell it for VS what a buyer is happy to pay for it.
If it was a tuning fork movement Accutron, I could give you a good idea wha it's worth nowadays, but not this watch. Try Ebay. If you find a few of the same watch, you could probably get an idea what people are paying for them there, which is usually less than an actual collector would. Or just Google "1945 Bulova US Military Watch. You'll probably find at least some for sale someplace, and can get an idea that way. I see a couple that look like WWII, includine one with the military markings on the back, they're asking from XXXXXXX for them. Whic h is not nevessarily what they're WORTH, especially to an actual collector. But it ought to give you an idea about where you might want to start.
If I were you, though, I'd replace that crystal before trying to sell it. A "bad looking" watch never brings as much as it could, and a new, clear, crystal will probably increase what you can get for it by more than the crystal will cost you.
PS: It probably is a "generic" WWII US military with 10K movement. But even during any specific year, there were more than one Bulova military watch. Some, like say the nurse's militery watch, can be worth more. So make sure exactly which model (case as well as movement) you have.
