I believe this to be an A11, the case looks like it could have survived a war. I am not accurate on the model or any other info. The crystal, back and strap are in great shape which leads me to believe they have all been replaced. Also it is not stamped like many others I have seen. Needs to be serviced because it is off by about 3 minutes per day but works.

Hello Yahnoe, welcome to myBulova. I don't think this is a Military Issue watch ( or A-11). To answer your question, the lack of "Military" notation on the back means that is was not produced for the American Armed Services. The US Government produced specification for watches that several companies picked up and produced, Bulova among them. All of the watches manufactured for the military are noted with the spec on the back. As your watch doesn't have the markings I suggest it was produced for the open market. I would like to do a bit more research on an ID for your watch, thanks for sharing it.

This is what was throwing me off. Possibly a replacement for a lost backing? It is serial numbered but I have no way of researching this that has proven fruitful.

Are there any other markings on the back case other than the serial number, which itself doesn't seem to be a standard Bulova number...too short and doesn't correspond with 1943.
It might very well have had the back case replaced, or the entire case is non-Bulova but a generic military type screw back.
Military style watches of this type without a military issue back case are normally ID'd as Military Non-Issue.
I'm at a loss, The best I can suggest is Military Non-Issue and I'm tentative on that ID. The case not having Bulova markings and the crown being larger than I see on 1940's era non-military models make it hard to match.
