In reply to Are you sure on the Alderman by Daca102090
So one thing I've noticed with various Alderman, most of the ones which match the two ads have 17 jewels and a USA movement. War years, so made in USA as per subject watch inside case pic "sterling base". Some of the "other" Alderman in watch DB have 15 jewel Swiss to USA movements (BXW) and most lack info on inside case back - to indicate if USA case.
15 Jewels would not be the 'ALDERMAN' IMO Will. We now have evidence that suggests this Case with a 15 Jewel Movement is the 'AVIATOR'.
Fifth- you have NOS glass crystal as per Crystal Details: Federal MT13-223 203
Wonder if we can check if this crystal package (or the catalogs) also list Aviator (and/or Aviator A, B, D) for this crystal (or same size crystal under another crystal ID'ing system). Or we may be able to see if the unique model numbers for Aviator show up in some crystal catalogs/packages. Right now it seems we have two Aviators in watch DB- one on a supposed hang tag ID; the second Aviator A doesn't mention how the name was chosen.
William's (Scott) comments (snippet below) about Alderman crystal in this record :
"I just found (2) 40s Fulton "Alderman" glass... And despite that ID ad... the bezel openings are NOT quite the same! (Alderman vs. Aviator and Stamford.) "
Scoot also commented on crystals in this Alderman record :
"Aviator, Stamford: CMT293 MU103-15, RMU98 CMT2205 198 HMB220/3 198
Alderman (-1942) MT298 MT2226 202 MB223/2 203 "
