A true Bulova classic - 1939 Doug Corrigan. (I believe would call this a THREE piece case).
Very Nice Doug Corrigan. I believe the signed crowns came out in the late 40s, so your crown may be correct.

Still have to figure out how to attach aband to it.
The lug extenders on these are as rare as hen's teeth. It is possible to attach the band without them, but the watch takes on a whole other dimension when it is complete. An example here:
