Just picked this up and looking for some info. I see a lot of variations of this but haven't been able to find a match yet. Just looking for some model, year info, or any other info anyone could offer. Thank you kindly.
Nice one. Based on style, your watch is a 1939; I'll change date above. At first look at the case, I thought it might be a Commentator variant or marriage. Seeing the movement would be of help as jewel count is a factor, as well as date stamp. We have one previous submission of this case/face combination dated 1939 ID'ed as Lone Eagle. I'm still looking.
The case does appear to be a 1939 Bulova Commentator but the dial is not one we have documented by an ad. I am good with this ID noting unconfirmed factory dial.
Does the watch have an inside case serial number?
We have seen other model do the same thing with their dials, so it is highly possible that this is the same situation here.
!939 would move it into the Commentator era.
I agree that many in this time period had a couple of different dials.
1939 Bulova Commentator
Commentator seems to be the best choice at this point; noting ad/dial discrepancy.
