Crystal broken, but I do have it. Runs very well. Silver lumed dial and Cathederal like hands? Dished case back?? I think this is an Ambassador - MyBulova advert 2 of 36 right hand bottom corner - but will leave that up to you??? Edit: Movement serial No on closer inspection looks to be 229730 and the Case No is 3002379. Will post more pictures once I can take better ones that show the numbers.
Ahh - now I understand a little about case dates - thank you
I am glad to call this watch what ever you think it is.
Janet I have the minute cathedral hand you need and a big thanks to Geoff for letting you know. Just PM me at JP.
I'm good with Envoy too,at this point it makes sense.
technically 'NON CONFORMING', but being it's Christmas:
1933 'ENVOY'
So based on Mr Wayne's 1933 watch ID'ed as Envoy here http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1933-envoy-2551 perhaps the Envoy changed style during 1933? The supporting ads in the link above are 1934.
Perhaps Wayne's watch (linked above) was something other than an Envoy in 1933 and is mis-ID'ed? Sure looks like Janet's case is an Envoy.
Will,
I believe in 1933 Waynes' example (linked above) was the 'AMBASSDOR', ironically.
ad Dated 1934

Case serial number dates this watch to 1933, as discussed. Updated from 1927 manufacturer date to 1933. Mvnt swap noted in discussion. Case signature looks to be "Bulova Quality" w/ Jan 11 1927 patent date.
