I sold my last one for @ pretty good chunk of change years ago. I've been looking for a decent one to have refurbished and this is the guy! He was at the Time machines Spa since earlier this year. Just got him back today.

1928 Bulova Lone Eagle
The watch is a beautiful 1926 Conqueror. The first digit, although looks maybe like an 8, is actually a 6. Also confirmed by the fact that Bulova never used the 852 serial number series. In fact, the whole range from 843, 844, 845 up to 853 was never used. The year 1926 ran 639 until 666, so 652 fits perfectly. It is also a match with the movement date code of 1926.
Nice watch, Plains! I have to agree that the first # of s/n is likely a mis-stamped 6, not an 8. Based on this premise, I agree.

I agree with Alex, in that the case serial number looks to starts with a 6 and not an 8.
I would have put this as a Lone Eagle, except for two factors: 1) Dial closed 9 and 2) movement serial number.
DIal 9 was normally an open 9 pre mid 1927 for the LE and Conquerors.
Movement serial number is too early for original LE.
