1920 'HUDSON MAXIM' is similarly marked, case and movement.

Hudson Maxim was a chemist and the inventor of smokeless gun powder. I don't know how this ties into these watches, but I bet it does in some way.

Recent discoveries also make it highly possible that the Hudson Maxim branding had nothing to do with the man himself, as Bulova at one time had seperate entities/branding/trademarks for both the Hudson Watch Company and the MAXIM branding. It's possible 'Hudson Maxim' is just a combination of the two.

From this article in the Brooklyn Eagle dated Dec. 16 1940 it appears Bulova owned the American Standard Watch Company.

Hmm I wonder if this is a typo and they missed the word 'Case'?
So from that article I get that the US made movements were done at Woodside and the cases at Sag Harbor. Is this how others read it?
