I'm not sure about an alteration to the lugs...The subject case back and front photo (left and 2nd from left below) shows the "length" of the lugs/embelishments, and it looks different than the lugs on Bourg01's example. The subject lugs, either with or without embelishments, appear to be longer than (far right). The lugs also angle off slightly different?
Unknown for now....
