Hello! Happy New Year! This is my first post here. I’ve been on this website for a few weeks scouring the ads trying to find out the years and models of a few different watches. My most recent purchase is a 10k white gold filled cushion(?) shape ladies watch. I’m thinking it is a 1938/1940 Lady Bulova D or a 1939 Lady Bulova. I have not seen an ad for white gold, only yellow or yellow with white. On the back of the case next to Bulova there is a shield mark (from my research it seems like it would put this mid-late 30s?). The band is marked Kreisler, I’m not sure if it is original to the watch. It does look like the band that is in the ad(s) for the Lady Bulova. The dial doesn’t seem to match any of the ads, as it has numbers and the ads I’ve found have numbers and hour markers. The hands are blue. It looks like the movement is a 6AZ and has a shield (39?). Forgive me if I’ve interpreted any of these things incorrectly (I’ve only been researching for a few weeks with no prior knowledge). If anyone knows anything about my watch, I’d love to know! I couldn’t figure out how to change the file names, sorry.
Hi Kodachrome, welcome to myBulova. I think your research is correct, that your watch is likely a 1939 Lady Bulova. While the D variant was yellow gold, I can't find either an advert or a match in white gold like yours. For now I'm going to keep on looking but I suspect we'll tag it just Lady Bulova without a variant letter.

I do have a couple of follow up questions. Did Kreisler make the bands for Bulova watches? Does anyone know what kind of printing/painting/etching method was used for the dial on my watch? It’s difficult to tell in the pictures but the background of the dial almost has a grainy(?) metal texture to it. I could be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me.

That is good to know about the band, thank you! I just thought it would be interesting to know about the dial, as it looks different than anything I have seen. I do believe it is original as well, since winding and setting the time you can see very slight discoloration marks, it must have been sitting for many years.
