I wonder if you can add a detail for us? I don't see a date code on the case back which should be present for a 1950 watch. I think your watch might be a couple years older than 1950. Is there a date code on the movement perhaps? In the last few years of the 1940's this watch might have been classified as an His Excellency model.  Here's an example

Hi Geoff!

1950 was a wild guess. It very well can be older and does look like the watch you attached. There is no date code on the back and I could not get it opened....

thank you so much for your information!

Nice watch! Based on the serial number starting with a "7", I'm going to say this is a 1947. If that is the case, it is most likely a Princeton, like this one.1947 was a transition year from Princeton to His Excellency.

My opinion is that this is a

1947 Princeton "A".

Everything points to a 1947 Bulova Princeton.  A classic design and love the scrolled lugs.  Looks to be the original bracelet too.

Thank Jim!

I was wondering about the bracelet! I was hoping it was original! I hope to get it restored and wear it! People will wonder which I am wearing an old mans watch, but I'll know why..... :)

thank you so much!!

I think they pretty close Lori. If it's 1947 I think it should be His Excellency, not Princeton on account of the cross over in 1947. The band is certainly of the era but I'm not sure it's the original. There is a 1947 advert here that shows it on a leather strap.

I know it's so crazy they show them with leather straps on the men's,  but the band that is on my  watch  looks just like the bands  on the ladies models... those kinda "curvy" links?

Odd :)

thank you all for the info! I love learning about my families artifacts!!!

Great looking watch and congrats on a nice heirloom.  With 1947 being the transition year on the name I will go with whatever the consensus is.
