2527 is the case reference number used for case parts. According to the 1972 ABC catalog the 2527 did not have a chapter ring as shown with this watch.
A conversion is when some takes an non Spaceview Accutron model, removes the dial and adds the Spaceview hands and crystal.
There is a list on case serial numbers somewhere on this site (need to find) which shows what is believed to be the correct list of original Spaceviews released by Bulova.
A later M9 (1969) movement does also suggest that it's not original to the M6 (1966) case.

Thanks for that info.
So, the history of my Accutron may be muddier. Oh well, at least I have one. If this one didn't have a chapter ring, it may have had a plain dial I guess.
Searched for "1972 ABC watch catalog" and TV shows from the channel ABC comes up. Therefore, what is an "ABC catalog"?
