Bezel is verticaly engraved all the way down to end of lugs. Raised gilt hash marks for numerals and black tracks. Case is shaped like the American Clippers but not as long. Tracks follow the shape of case. Case back is marked Bulova O and is gold plated and is hinged. Missing hands but sub sec hand is there and tells me watch is running. I think it may have had stick hands but am not sure. As always watch has been cleaned and oiled. Once it has been identified I will know what type of hands to put on it.
Subject has same "chevron" type lines either side of case like the Hancock, Commander does not.
EDIT: No engraving on advertised watch, so subject is maybe a variant?
The mid 1930's 'COMMANDER' was discussed briefly here http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1936-commander-4261
The end result was the notion that the database ad for the 'COMMANDER' is not the best and the Case side embellishments do exist, which I agree with.
'COMMANDER'

Wow, according to you, the end result was inconclusive as the ad shown is not clear enough, and you twice refuted the existence of any side embellishments on the case, and NOVA agreed with you in the above linked post. That link helps you not at all. Still has different dial, batons, not numbers. I would go for 1935 UNKNOWN for now.

Stop making him be consistant.
There is a Commander here which has similar case but numeral dial vs the batton dial of subject watch.

That watch is the one used in Mark's link above Will, and it is a tentative I.D.
So which way are you going, Hancock or Commander??
Bob,
Yes, You're viewing an old entry.
There's nothing wrong with a tentative ID Gents and I've given My opinion on the subject Watch, twice.
My take on it is given in my last post.
Hard to say its the same as the Commander shown in this advert. Hard to see a side step like subject watch.

Alternatively the Hancock looks to have the side step but no engraving.

Unknown for now until we have evidence to suggest on or the other, or a new model.
