1936 Ambassador, hidden lug model. Nice etching. Original Matching band with grooves in centre links as the lugs have.
Don't the ads show this Ambassador w/ 15 jewels only? Did i get this wrong?
Last 1936 Ad shows Ambassador with 17 jewels, Will.
Figures...I stopped after seeing the several ads w/ 15 jewel in 1934/35 related thread here http://www.mybulova.com/node/4877
and subject watch is 1936 Thanks Bob
EDIT...and again two 15 jewel ads in 1936 below....Still looking for that 17 jewel ad, and I don't doubt it's in there Bob....but then what do we do?
In reply to Here it by bobbee
Yea I just found it too Bob. So we have three ads from 36, two w/ 15; one w/ 17. Guess it came in both jewel count....or we gots us a humdinger.....
Also 1937, Will. Why does your 1936 ad above show the Goldcraft as an Ambassador variant? Totally different watch. Looks as if the w/gold variant had 15 jewels.
Edit: Maybe prior to 1937 the Ambassador with 17 jewels was known as the Goldcraft, is that your meaning, Will? No ads before '37 for Goldcraft.

Bob I think my 1936 ad a few comments up is a Sears ad, and it isn't necessarily showing the Goldcraft as an Ambassador variant, but perhaps a similar model or who knows? I wasn't thinking the Goldcraft was such anyway. The ad directly above is from 1937?
Yah.
I was just going by the reference nos. on your ad above, Will. Probably just bad referencing by the retailer, been seen before.

I gotta read these ads closer. Bob your 1937 ad above indicates natural gold plate Ambassador is 17 jewel and white gold plate is 15 jewel.
Glad you picked up on that. It's all so much clearer now, isn't it? NOT.
