1953 Bulova Unknown 21J 8AC with a L3 date code, 10K Gold filled bezel and case back with fancy "wings" attached to the bezel sides, Speidel padded Black Croc-grain strap. I picked this up at a local estate sale, kind of a neat looker, cleaned up nice and running smooth. *Possitive ID update 2-15-12 Nice ad find by Shawn!

Does this ad for the Everett dated 1952 not appear to be showing the same watch?

In reply to Does this ad for the Everett by NOVA
It Is indeed Nova, Had to be a Name change in 1953, ads in the database. Funny thing here is that mines a 1952, The Everett.
Subject is the EVERETT, as this new 1952 ad from the US backs up the one in the DB.
Also all Ambassadors from this time frame are 17 jewels, as opposed to subject's 21 jewels.

This one and others of the same design are still mis-named, if we take the two different ads for the Everett versus one for the Ambassador, and the jewel difference into account.
EDIT:- I have looked at all ads from the last genuine Ambassador ad with 21 jewels in 1946, right up to the 1970's, and not one, apart from the one I am questioning, show an Ambassador with more than 17 jewels.
So there's the 1952 Ambassador ad in root record, and then both a 1952 and '53 ad for Everett. Sounds like the Everett fits subject watch better.
Everett.
OT, is that a case date of L2?
In reply to Everett. OT, is that a case by DarHin
Looks like the first case back photo is L2 and the second is L3. OT will let us know....
There is a 1954 ad for the Everett now, Jerin found another, that is three.
