1945 Bulova Military Issue 10AK ('ORD DEPT') . Case measures 38mm lug to lug X 32mm non inclusive of the Crown using calipers. Black dial shows painted white arabic numerals, a minute track demarcated at 10 minute intervals and Bulova signature. A sub-seconds dial appears at the 6 O'Clock position. Hour and Minute hands are White Alpha (WA), the sub-seconds hand is White Modern style (WM). A dust or anti-magnetic shield and 'washer' appears between the movement and caseback. The caseback screws on and is stamped as shown.
*The watch is a restoration using a combination of existing and N.O.S. Military parts and is finished on a cca. 1945 Military issue 2 piece strap.
1945 Bulova Military Issue Ordnance Dept is a good match. Although I am not sure the dial is correct for a Ord Dept watch. Looks like a A11 dial.

Jim the A11 was a center sweep hand watch, not a sub-dial secondhand watch like the ORDs. Dial has the sub-second so would be correct for the ORDs issue.
Clean looking watch Fifth. Nice restoration.

No issues. I just never seen this type of dial on an ORD watch.
According to what I have read, watches were marked Ord Dept until 1950, and then after were Ord Corp. Center sweeps were issued to combat troops and sub seconds (dept and corp) to support troops.
In 1950 the Ordinance Department of the U.S. Military became the Ordinance Corps.
The 16J Navigation Watch Type A-11 was issued to aviation personnel, at this time in 1945 the U.S. Air Force was still a part of the U.S. Army, the USAAF.
The model 10AK, the subject watch has a 15j non-hacking movement was issued to ground (combat) and supporting troops.
