Thank you for posting your watch. Ca you provide a picture of the case back? Currently the N2 date code on the movement indicates a 1972 date but need to the case back picture to confirm.
The caseback has an N0 datecode, but I can't get a good photo of it. N0 is where I got 1970 from, though the movement is probably more accurate for dating the watch

We typically go with the case date, as the movement can always be replaced and was sometimes done by a jeweller (or even Bulova) if the original movement broke.
I'd love it if someone could tell me which model they think this might be.
Seeing a photo of the back case (inside and out) would be helpful and would allow us to correctly provide and ID. We can check the case model number against the expected movement model which would also help us determine if its correct for the case (and possibly original) or a possible replacement.
So far, my search has shown this case housing 17 jewelled movements, but I'm still searching.
Here is a French 1970s catalog showing your watch, suggesting it's an international model.
Model #39 01 01 (assuming the case back isn't 18Kt solid gold....or is it?

Oh, that's very helpful, thank you! I bought it at an estate auction about 10 years ago, so I don't know it's lineage, only that it ended up in rural Pennsylvania.
It's interesting to note that mine doesn't have the Bulova logo, only the word "Bulova", and it's placed slightly higher on the dial face than those pictured.
Am I to assume, based on the associated images, that this was a variation of the "astronaut" line?

Sorry, I realized the space photos had were in relation to the "astronaut" watches immediately preceding the model 39, so I've answered my own question.
I believe 39 01 01 is Acier meaning steel so it is not this model. It would appear to be 39 71 01 if it is in fact 18KT gold. This would be marked on the inside of the case back. If you can provide a photo of this or tell us what is on the inside case back we can narrow this down.

The inside of the case back says "Bezel Gold Plated G 22 microns", so it's not the 39 71 01. The only difference between mine and the 39 01 01 - that I can see - is mine has a gold dial like on the 37 71 01
