all gold, 23 jewels, automatic, has 1 422628 on back of case, water proof also written on back, M5,
I should also mention it seems to run fine and keep time well. I have put it on a watch winder and the time is looking good last 30 hours or so.
Hey Phil this is a real interesting one. For the life of me I don't recall seeing a screw on the back of one before. The integrated bracelet is another head scratcher as this is early for that. I think you have an international model like this one but with a black dial. Can you confirm if this is 18KT gold.

Yes it is all gold and I assume 18K but not sure. The watch in your pic looks correct accept dial color.

The listing is from the 1967 Bulova International Linebook. There is no match to the dial color but fairly certain this is your watch but just a different variant.
The screw in the case back is interesting. It would be good to see the inside of this one.
I cannot open the case. I tried unscrewing the screw on case and the screw came off but the case back stayed tight and on.

It is most likely a top loader meaning the movement opens when the crystal is removed. Normally on top loaders the crown and stem is a two piece and you pull hard to remove crown to allow the case to come out. Yours is a different concept where there is a small opening covered by a screw. It is removed to access the Crown Stem screw which is unscrewed several turns to remove the stem.

That makes sense. The first time I've seen or heard of this method of accessing the crown and stem.
any idea what the model is called? where I can look up comparables? An idea on value?

We would call this a Bulova International Model. As for value we do not discuss value as it is arbitrary and can vary extensively. This being gold I would think the gold value would be the max value of this watch so the expression, "its worth its weight in gold" holds true here.
