An other first one for the d.b.
Rubaiyat 1918 !
with the roman match number on crystal ring. IX, VII, IV, II. (9742).
Crown at 3 o'clock and obviously made as a wirstwatch!
Just a real surprise because the seller never opened it. so no pics when i buy it on ebay beside front and back..... tough was a 1920 cause of the hands but probably not the good ones on this amazing 1918 RUBAIYAT !
I am near the moon with this one!
She is the oldest in my collection!

This is where we still have a bit of a mystery. The case serial number looks to be 3310766. It has been a theory of mine that the first number (in this case 3 rather than 2) indicates a different factory or location. It's just a wild theory. The 33xxxxx also goes against the notion that the second 3 would translate to 1923 which would not be correct. Some mystery still exists.

1903 is impossible of course cause the 1911 key date...and 1923 its impossible too so it only left 1913...... remember the 1911 to 1915 are rare af so maybe a mistruck or was made for europe? here a complete view of the front watch./sites/default/files/uploaded_photos/user24327/Screenshot_20240819_215214.jpg

we just know that rubaiyat was inc on 1st November 1917 if im right. but before this, maybe and just maybe the company was simply reg. before inc. we know bulova start to do his first watch by combining part from different company( wich i suspect it was directly found or hold by a.bulova) so what we know about the foundation years of rubaiyat and american standard w.c. co. not the "rebuy" or inc. Founders, who and when this two company was really born....... and who was their founders..... we got 2 watches in data base dated before the key date of Nov.1917. im sure im not the only one who think that rubaiyat was already in activity before Nov.1917. if im not right, please explain me why this two watches exist.(1915 and 1916)
