The band is not original...The original band (which I do have) is a gold plated stainless band.

My Father's Watch & Birthday Present from his mother in 1943

Submitted by dabu43 on

My father recieved this watch from his Mother for his Birthday in 1943.  Therefore watch should be 1943 or earlier model.

Inscription on back says  "14 K Gold" * " 6122928 ".   Sorry for the bad photo. If too difficult to indentify with this photo, I'll upload another later but this is best I have for now.

At this stage not looking to restore yet but more trying to learn about this model and record this part of my father's life.

President?

Submitted by mattcohen on

Hi, Sorry - couldn't figure out how to post photos: heres a link to a picasa web.

I can't figure out how to date it either. I guess its pre-1949 becuase there's no date code stamped on the outside, but i don't want to open it up.

I was looking at the president line as a possibility, but i couldn't find any missing the numbers like mine is.

Thanks for any advice!

Can anyone ID this 1941 ladies watch?

Submitted by Jerry on

From reading this site I found the movement to be a 5AB with a 1941 date code. The back of the case is stamped with 152962 and BULOVA 14K. The band is also stamped 14K on the clasp. I think I have looked at all the adds on site and it seems the watches that look most similar are in the early 1950's?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jerry

My latest find, Concentric?

Submitted by jcmurp on

Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone out there had seen a watch like this before. I was glancing through ads but had not found it but think it is called bulova concentric. Dated L6 (1956) 10k gold filled automatic 6 adjustments. I had not seen one by bulova before just Benrus (Benrus pointer)

thanks

Bulova 23 Jewel Semi-Winding

Submitted by smokey847 on

Found this old Bulova in a trunk from my grandfather's estate.  It says 23 Jewel and Semi-winding.  The back says the case is stainless steel.  I just would like more information on the watch, i.e. year, etc.  Apologies for the quality of the photo, as I am restricted to a phone's camera capabilities at the moment.  Thanks for the help in advance.
