What is it? - [ Archived ]

 I have a beautiful 10k rolled gold plated ladies' watch. On the back of the case it says 

Bulova L7 (at top)

T56044 (at bottom)

On the movement itself it has "5AD" & 21 Jewels. Inside the back of the case it says Bulova Fifth Ave. New York & it also has what looks like 3 rows of numbers & letters that were obviously hand-etched.

The most unique thing is the crystal. Starting from the outside (at 3 & 6), the crystal ascends to a peak that runs from the top (12) to the bottom (6).

Here is one I picked up a few weeks back on a BIN.

I bought a Bulova watch today from an antique store for $15, I thought it looked pretty cool so I bought it. Under the serial number on the back it has a small M8 so I'm guessing its a 68. But I cant seem to find anymore info on it. It has a really interesting case design and its water proof.  Do not know for sure what year (although back states M6 - 1966); have not opened the back to find movement markings - I am not confident that I (an amateur) can remove the back without damaging the watch.  It is a manual wind and keeps very accurate time.  Squared-off bezel - very plain, but classic-looking, design.

Here we go again guys, this time a little older of a watch.  ( if this seems short, then I apologize, I have written this three times, losing it every time I closed the browser by accident from other threads) 

1958 Clipper, unsure which variant it is. I think that it is a Yankee Clipper, could be a sun clipper though.

Find at local flea market. Back of case reads 10k rolled gold plate, Bulova M7 serial# J903302.

Movement is 10CH dated M9, dial reads Bulova at top and Swiss below sub dial. It has two real diamonds at 3 and 9 o'clock. Any idea fellows, its got me stumped.

Just purchased the attached , it has a 10AX movement 21 jewels. Omega symbol for 1940 , inside case apparently marked Bulova . Cannot find this on data base, note crown is military style.

The quest for the elusive Academy Award can result in some strange finds.

An Academy Award style curtain dial with a 21J 10BM movement stamped 1950 (L0) in a Treasurer case dated 1952 (L2).

Another AA recycle job with a model name we haven't yet found an ad for?   Or the dreaded Frankenbully?  Or a valid AA?  (For those who may not recall, the 10BM is another movement frequently seen in the AAs.)

Academy award-style curtain dial. . . in a 1953 case. . . with a 7AA movement marked originally 1949 (A9) then later stamped 1952 (L2).

Case has previously been ID'd as a Commuter, but without any documentation to support that conclusion.
