I have narrowed the crown choices for my "23" to one of 2 crowns, either a 103 or 303. Stainless steel watertite case. Is one of the crowns SS and the other gold? My usual supplier (Dash2) doesn't have either in stock. Anyone knowledgable on the difference or a source? Thanks.
Any of these cleaners worth the $40 bucks or so to snag for cleaning parts/cases?

This is not the correct Crystal for a 1940's Senator.
Yes, it fits but the CMY-311 is a magnifyer (humped) or someone slipped a different piece of plastic into one I just received.
The Senator's original Glass is flush with the Case.
These 'humped' Crystals are just hideous.
Ok guys, I am on a very tight budget but I dont want to buy junk and have to then by it again so...
What minimum tools are needed to service and oil Bulova movements especially what size and brand jewelers screwdrivers and oiler?
A movement holder, hand puller and installer...what else?
I have a box of junk to play with and learn on and I am ordering the Bulova and Chicago watchmakers courses to try and learn how to do some of this ...

I've had this movement and dial on my bench forever. It's a Doxa with a nice square face. Been looking for a case for it and finally found a square Sutton case with a Buloba 8AH in it. The Doxa fit like a glove. Turns out the Doxa 98 and Bulova 8AH are both ETA 1000s.
So this is just a wish list type of thing but actually doable for me if I save up the dough and make it a little "daddy time" next year.
The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. (NAWCC) apparently puts on a 4-day "Basic Pocket Watch" class for beginners.
