This watch was acquired at flea market by my wife a number of years ago for $20. We were wanting to know any information about it. It appears to be covered in diamond and sapphire. The band also has a 14k marking. Not looking to sell currently just wanting to be able to appreciate it and know how much care we should have when handling it. Thank you!
Wow that was quite the deal!! The watch is from the Diadem collection, 14K with 1 carat of diamonds. The band being 14K is an added bonus. It retailed for $950 in 1976 so one of the more expensive watches. Great find. Linebook 1976_LineBook_BAWD0206.pdf page 49

1976 Bulova Diadem Model 55153-1W
Beautiful watch at an incredible deal. 1976 Bulova Diadem Model #55153-1W is a good match.
If you want to make a nice little profit, I'll happily buy your watch at 10 times what you paid for it :-)
That is an incredible buy at $20. It pays to know what you're selling.
The Bulova Diadem ID is a winner.
Any price estimate? Still not looking to sell just need to know if it should go on the insurance :) thank y'all very much for the help no matter what. What a great community!

Whilst we don't evaluate timepieces, I would certainly recommend having the watch insured. There is enough value there to include it in your coverage (IMO).
The bulk of the value will be in the gold and diamonds, so I would recommend having a jeweller provide an evaluation for your insurance.
