Watch Description

I don't have all the information needed on this forum since the back of the case hasn't been removed (I currently don't have the tools/knowledge to do it myself). I found this watch while going through some items at my parents house. It appears to have never been worn and is still in its original packaging. Based on an advertisement that I found on this site it shows up in a 1972 add and is called a "Accutron Date and Day 'AV'". The back of the case has an inscription on it which indicates that it was given to an individual in 1977.

That's over a thousand bucks in today's money.

Hi dtemple, welcome to myBulova. This is a fine looking Accutron, looks like it was very well cared for. Is it possible that the 'N6" you mentioned is "M6"? That would make the year 1976. Is it possible to add a photograph of the case back?

Agree with Accutron Day date "AV" , not sure on the year though.

I'll get a photo of the case back uploaded - it is possible that it's a M6 since it was hard for me to see for sure. Thanks!

I have added a picture of the back of this watch - hope this helps!

1976 is the correct year, Nice Accutron Day/Date "AV"

The movement should be a 2182 unless it was swapped out at some point.

I most likely will look to sell this item. Since I don't have a lot of knowledge in this area I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some estimates of what a watch like this in its condition (unworn) along with it's original box would be worth. Thanks!

Nice piece. Electroplate case (more valuable is gold filled or solid obviously), late model 2182 (or possibly a 2192?) in unknown running condition (you should remedy that) in excellent condition with original box....?

dtemple03 - sorry but we don't offer appraisals on myBulova, there are so many factors that affect value and quite frankly, few of us are professional appraisers. To Eric's point, your watch is in very nice condition. We do allow you to list your watch for sale here by paying a small fee, the details are listed on the "add a watch" section at the top of the page. We also suggest researching listings and sales on the on-line auction and selling sites for more on value.
