LADIES ACCUTRON WITH DATE AND SPEIDEL BAND
CASE BACK--SER. NO. G33779, N4, GOLD PLATED BEZEL, ROLLED GOLD PLACE BACK, WATER RESISTANT.
INSIDE CASE BACK HAS INK STAMPED NUMBER 3410 AND 3/?(I THINK IT'S AN 8, ENGRAVED 9-5.
MOVEMENT: SWISS 13J, 2302, UNADJUSTED, N4. i ENTERED 14 AS ITS CLOSER TO 13 THAN THE OTHER CHOICES.
WATCH BEZEL, DIAL, HANDS, AND CRYSTAL ARE ALL PRISTINE. CASE BACK HAS AWARD ENGRAVING BUT OTHERWISE NOT SCRATCHED.
THE 2302 MOVEMENT NUMBER I FIND SURPRISING, I WOULD THINK THE TRAILING 2 WOULD MEAN DAY-DATE WHEREAS THIS WATCH ONLY HAS THE DATE WINDOW, WHICH REQUIRES EYES BETTER THAN MINE TO READ.
i APOLOGIZE FOR THE POOR IMAGES OF THE MOVEMENT AND CASE BACK AS MY CAMERA WON'T FOCUS CLOSE ENOUGH TO CATCH THE PRINTED DETAIL. ALSO THE WATCH BEZEL AND CASE ARE GOLD ALTHOUGH THEY APPEAR SILVER.
Thanks oberuber The gender field is a newly added attribute, and the Accutrons from a week ago or older need to be updated. We are working on this as we go.
It is a shame there are not many womens Accutrons in the DB, but the site can only publish watches posted by members, and ads are pretty thin on the ground for ladies hummers, if you look at the accutron ads.
Accutron Ladies Calendar, just like the Mens, with just the date, they called them "Calendar" with a letter variant.
Did they call them Calendar when they only had the "date" display? Or did they call them "date"? Does "Calendar" imply inclusion of the day that date falls on?
I vote to have it listed as:
1974 Accutron 230 Calendar
The 230 series of movements (2302 in this example), and the vairant field containing the tentative model name - Calendar.
If an ad comes along showing us the model is "Calendar X", we can add that info then.
I'd assign two tick if published as "Calendar", or three ticks for "Accutron 230" w/o Calendar model/vaiant, but IMO the Calendar name conveys more information about the watch

Thanks Greg Too bad your comment showed up earlier in the thread- it's well worth looking at page 1 to see. Lots of good points/info on possible naming for these Accutrons. Now I gotta digest it all. I had PM'ed a subset of "accutron members" about suggestions, and sure wish I had included you :(

1974 230 "Calendar" from me. The "Series" term is implied, if not spicifically stated in the name!
BTW, the 2312 & 2313 were 230 mvts. with larger Day/Date wheels and usually reserved for a larger man's case.
I did not reply to your message previously because I didn't think I had anything new to add. Naming Accutrons is difficult for all the reasons stated here already and also because workers on the assembly lines would sometimes substitute hands, etc. intended for different models. Ask any Jeweler who sold Accutrons during their heyday and they will testify that they would order three of the same model only to have them arrive with different features than shown in the catalog. On WTF we first refer to the mvt. caliber than any other, if known, identifying features such as Astronaut, a Woody, "D" case, Traveler or Astronaut Mark II, Spaceview, Accuquartz, 100th Anniv. and some others. Sometimes Bulova did also use letter designations for models and those can be added to the identification. Identification is not as clear cut as with most earlier Bulova watches.
