I'd like to gain insight into this 1971/1972 watch. The case serial number led me to guess Clipper, but others (outside this site) suggest it's a Sea King.

An interesting one to be sure, thanks for sharing. We date watches by case date stamp, which makes yours a 1971. The 1971linebook177 shows a match with "Sea King" on the dial, but identifies the watch as
1971 Clipper "S".
If I am correct, this is a first for the database.
It would make sense to drop the 'SEA KING' from the dial if they changed the model name to 'Clipper'. The linebook maybe used an old photo of the model when is was a Sea King. We see a few of these pop up with SEA KING on the dial but ID'd as another model in the linebook.
I'd certainlly agree with a 1971 Bulova Clipper "S" as per the linebook and lack of SEA KING on the dial.
